 The Women’s Hospital, School of Medicine, Zhejiang University and the Department of Molecular Genetics, University of Toronto are jointly recruiting a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher who is interested in the roles of noncoding RNAs and RNA-binding proteins in metastatic progression of ovarian cancer and the evaluation of these RNA molecules as potential biomarkers ovarian cancer for better management of the prognosis of patients. The postdoc will be co-supervised by Professor Weiguo Lu from Zhejiang University and Professor Howard Lipshitz from University of Toronto. Our unique expertise both in cancer research and RNA biology will provide an excellent opportunity for the candidate to conduct cutting-edge research by combining interdisciplinary approaches.

This joint postdoc position is funded for three years by the Women’s Hospital, Zhejiang University, and the contract may be extended for another two years depending on performance. The candidate is expected to work at the Women’s Hospital, Zhejiang University for one year, and at the Department of Genetics, University of Toronto for the next two years. We offer a competitive salary package.

 

Requirements

1.      Ph.D. in genetics, cell/molecular biology, biochemistry or cancer biology

2.      Experience in molecular biology and biochemistry experiments, mammalian cell culture, next-generation RNA sequencing, CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing

3.      Ability to learn and use new techniques, work both independently and as part of a team

4.      Excellent written and oral communication skills in English

5.      A strong publication record in high-impact peer-reviewed journals
