About the PedigreeOnLine

PedigreeOnLine is a free web service for users to draw pedigree quickly and easily. Users can choose to create a pedigree from a family data input, or to draw or edit a pedigree in a user-friendly graphical interface. PedigreeOnLine is written in Jscript, and can work with most web browsers supporting HTML5. PedigreeOnLine currently accepts input data in three formats: Pedigree-Like-Layout(PLL) format, standard linkage format, and Comma-Separated-Values(CSV) format.

The Pedigree-Like-Layout(PLL) format

In PedigreeOnLine, we have introduced a novel family data format named Pedigree-Like-Layout(PLL) format, in which individual informations are arranged in a pedigree like layout. Use the following example for illustration:

Users can easily import and transform their CSV or Linkage files to our new data format.

The two-way interactive mode

In PedigreeOnLine, users can generate a pedigree from the family data input. The output pedigree is also a graphical interface where users can edit or draw the pedigree. When drawing the pedigree in the graphic interface, the family data information update automatically.
